Big Step in Motherhood
This year Zak was old enough to be part of the "Orange Crush Crew" at St. Ann. Orange Crush Crew is a group of kids from school that go to sporting events to cheer for St. Ann. Anyway, there were three games at St. Ann on Friday night, so needless to say Zak wanted to go. Larry and I talked about it and decided to let him go equipped with a cell phone, some cash and neither one of us present. I took him to the gym, walked out and cried! I could not believe it, it hurt so much to watch my little guy(almost 12) walk into the gym without me. I spent the rest of the evening praying to the Blessed Mother to watch over him and watching the clock till it was time to go pick him up. Of course Larry was calm and cool and acted as though it did not bother him, but I know deep down he too was feeling what I was feeling. Yep, the time has come for us to cut the apron stings and let Zak be a BIG BOY! I cannot explain how much I was not looking forward to this day coming, but it has and now we must accept it. I want to hold on to all three of my kiddos forever and never let them grow up. I love our Friday nights of dinner and then a family movie. Our Saturday nights of Mass and steaks for dinner, and our Sundays of good ol' family time.
Today, I find myself looking at Zak and wondering when did he get so big? I thought I was really good at cherishing the moments, but now it seems that the moments escaped me? How did I let that happen? Have I done the best I could to raise Zak to make the right choices when I am not around? Will it hurt this much to see Nik hit this point in childhood? I guess only time will tell, but for tonight, I am sitting between my "boys" watching "Elf" and cherishing the moment! Hoping that they will never be too big to snuggle with their ol' ma.

Christmas is in the Air
I know when Christmas is getting closer because my boys become little crazies. They are so full of life shall we say they are pushing me to my limits. Nik is so excited to get the train around the tree and Zak cannot wait for all the cookies and candy I make. Bella is still clueless to what is going on. The excitement in the kids makes it all the more exciting for me and I enjoy the season so much more. We have 7.5 days of school until Christmas break! Yippe! My baking begins Friday night and our first Christmas is this weekend at Randy and Stella's.

Fall Family Fun
Ahhhh....it is finally that time of year. We have broken out the jeans and fleece jackets and love it! The weather has made all our family fun activities this week even more enjoyable. The week started off with a completely unsuccessful photo shoot with the Trent's. It left Cindy and I wondering what in the &#$* we were thinking wanting to get a good picture of all 6 kids. Never fear....we decided to let the photo place take one more stab at getting a priceless photo. So, we tried one more time on Saturday. This time we had a fabulous photographer and we were able after over an hour of shooting to get ONE good photo! Believe it or not it was the 9 year olds and the 11 year old that were the problem. The rest of the week was pretty calm. The boys had very little homework and I had very little running. I did attempt a MOPS meeting, but Bella did not feel like being there, so we left shortly after arriving. I was really annoyed since it is one thing I really look forward too every other week. Oh well, maybe next time. The "work week" ended on a yummy note with dinner at Texas de' Brazil with the Trents.Yesterday after the successful photo shoot the Trent's and I took the kids to a Halloween Block Party in the Trent's neighborhood. Unfortunately Larry is sick and did not get to attend. Larry’s illness turned out lucky for Zak since he had no desire to go to the “kiddy” party. Zak has officially entered the too cool for school phase....his loss! Anyway, Nik, Bella and I really enjoyed roasting hotdogs, marshmallow, a hayride and the company. We topped the weekend off with a trip to the Priddy Pumpkin Patch. Bella and I really enjoyed it, but the boys were being poops. I got one ok family photo, but the rest of the day was a wash of family fun. I think the boy’s tolerance is about up when it comes to doing the juvenile things with Bella. That wraps up the week for us. We say so long to the Trent's on Wed and have trick or treating on Friday, but that is about it for us this week. We hope this finds you all sipping apple cider around a campfire somewhere out there.

Gotta Go....
I have really enjoyed being on "Babysites", but my year is about up with them. Therefore, I am moving to "blogger". I hope you will all move with me. It is so much fun to keep you all informed of how wonderful my little family is. I am hoping to be cute and crafty with my words here, but only time will tell if that will be the case. Thank you for continuing to keep up with us.
Happy Fall!
