Really, it has been a month since I updated????

A week ago, Nik fell ill. He had every symptom of Swine, so we are going with it being Swine. Monday, Zak fell ill to Swine. He is my kid that gets sick and is 10 times more sick as most people that have the same thing. He ended up at the doctors on Wed. with the onset of pneumonia. He is a lot better today! Friday, Bella got Swine. She was the only child(at this house) with a confirmed case and hers is bad enough she received Tham-a-flu! I am still working full time and the boys are still playing football. So, please excuse me for not updating sooner. I am going to update with words then I will post a just photos post.

Sept18-20th was spent in St. Louis for Larry's oldest Brother's 60th Birthday Party. It was nice to see all of his family. We also squeezed in some time to see my family.

Sept26-29th. My Mom, Dad, Grandma R, Randy, and Stella came down to see Zak and Nik play football. They all came in on Saturday afternoon and stayed till Mon. We had a really packed house, but it was a lot of fun! The boys were really excited they had so many people at their games! BTW this weekend was Larry and I's 6th Anniversary. We had a nice weekend of being parents.
On Sunday night of this weekend, my babysitter called and said she needed to go to Tupelo MS with her husband to find an apartment(he is moving there with his job). She and the kids will move when their house sells. Well, she was really the only person I had to watch Bella, so I was in a bind. Thankfully my Mom was here. She helped me pack Bella up and took Bella home with her and Dad on Mon.

Oct2-4th The unexpected trip to Grandma and Grandpa's left me driving to Illinois on Sat. morning to pick Bella up. It was a really fast trip but it was nice to see my family for a little while. This is the same weekend Nik fell ill with Swine.....the last week was a whirlwind.

Life in general is good at our house. Bella is changing so fast. She will be 2 in a few weeks. My goodness where did 24 months go? She is saying a lot more these days. Some of my favorites are:
Any Name......r you?
My go bye bye...peeese!
Mommy my yuv you!
Mybath...peese
NOOOOOOO to everything
Ashes ashes fall down....when she wants you to play that with her.
My cook when she wants you to play with her and her kitchen set
ooooooo.....for her monkey(she also scratches under her arms)
GOOOO Zak(at his games)
GOOOO Nik (at his games)
She will yell.....lalalala when we pass the church she goes to Kindermusic
She will yell......paaaaaa when we pass the gym she goes to or her favorite park

I have found a new sitter for her. Her name is Ms. Laura and is just as wonderful as Ms. Ann. I took Bella there yesterday for 3 hours as a trial run and they both did great. I will be sad to see Ann move, but I understand.

Nik is doing really well in school. He tries really hard in football. I feel like he is not getting a fair chance at playing, but such is life. He is still in Scouts, so he keeps Larry and I very busy.

Zak is doing really well is school too. He has matured so much since last year. It is very much for the better. He has become very concerned about his school work and being on time. I have really enjoyed seeing this change in the last few months.

Football ends in a week, so no more excuses for a month between posts.

Words for Wednesday

So, I grew up in a small town and I know a lot of people from that small town. People I really could care less about, but others I still love.

I lost one I still love yesterday. Mavi....I remember meeting her at St. Simon and Jude Elementary. She was a year younger than I. She had pzazz. Her grandparents and mine were friends. Mavi was a good girl.....she will be missed.

Words.....I had plenty of them this morning for Nik who locked me out of the house. I was leaving for work and he said he had the car keys except he did not. Nope, they were safely in the locked house. No biggie....I get a ride to school and am on time. Larry comes to pick us up at 4:30(again no biggie; I had a lot to do in my classroom). We get home only for him to realize his keys to the house are on the MDX key ring that is at Acura being serviced. Shit! He is able to pop the lock. Yah, we are in......NOPE, no sooner does Larry pop the lock, Zak pulls the still locked door closed! WHF are you thinking came flying out of Larry's mouth. He has to drive to Acura, get the keys are drive home. I get to stay in the garage and entertain a 22 month old for two hours all the while it is raining outside!

It is 9:15pm. I am going to bed......Oh, did I mention a mom of a student e mailed me today to tell me her kid does not like me? Too bad lady, I am the teacher and that is that......Really????

Our Fallen Hero

Hero: a man distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength

She was a woman. She was a daughter, mother, wife, and friend. She was the mother of my boys, the wife of my husband and sadly not ever my friend in life. She fought a fight I cannot imagine. She never gave up. She fought to see Nik's first birthday. She missed her own that year. She fought for one more Christmas, but lost just shy of that year's holidays. She wrote them letters, made out birthday cards, and finished a scrapbook for Nik just so they had something after she was gone. She planned her own funeral so Larry did not have to handle the details while in so much pain. She left me my life and did not even know it when she died.

She left them 9 years ago today. The pain for some is still as raw today as it was nine years ago, but for others it is easing. Her life is remembered, her time here on earth cherished.

Today her boys were at a football pep rally. Likely she was not on their minds. She was on mine. I fought tears as I watched Zak hang with his buddies. I fought the tears when I saw Nik run out with his first football team. She is missing so much. It is not fair! They too miss so much, her voice, her scent, her long "red" hair. The way she read to them, the way she tucked them in at night, the way she made peanut butter and honey sandwiches. All things I cannot be all things I want them to remember!

So, tonight as our crazy weekend comes to a close I sit in quiet and think about a hero I never knew. Someone I owe so much of my happiness to. Someone that gave me a gift better than anything I can ever wrap. R.I.P. Randa Gail Kennedy.

Not Me Monday

****Warning....tired Mom on the keys.....lots of run-on sentences****

It is not me sitting at Acura with a screaming 21 month old. Nope, not me trying to get the MDX all ready for the next 12 weeks I am going to be working full time. And yes, she has screamed so hard and for so long (2 hours and counting) she has puked on me twice!

It is not me ready to have a complete melt down with her.

It is not me that has packed 100 things to do into this week. Nope, I did not save it all for this last week before I return to work.

It is not me that wanted "something A LITTLE different" this time with my highlights. Nope not me that came out looking like a bleached skunk!

It is not me that washed an ink pen in Larry's shorts this week and ruined a load of light clothes.

It is not me that cried all the way home from school last week (only the first 2 days) because Zak is in Jr. High this year.

It is not me that had 3 meetings last week at school, 4 nights of football practice and an all day of football on Sat. Nope, not me that was so tired Sat afternoon I slept for 2.5 hours.

It is not me that successfully cooked dinner (and a healthy one at that) every night last week!

It is not me that cried as I tried to get chocolate mouse out of the carpet and off Bella's Pottery Barn chair last night. Nope not me that had to clean up the mess after Nik who knows there is no food upstairs took chocolate mouse upstairs, did not want the rest of it so he left it in reach of Bella so she painted my carpet and her chair. I may have cried, but I did not yell. Not once, I calmly told Nik no more food upstairs....sent him out of the room and proceeded to cry:)

It was not me that took the family to the pool on Sun and had a blast!!

It was not me that wishes summer was not over yet.

Flashback Friday

It will be a year in Oct since the Trent's left. I am not sure there are more than 2 or 3 days a week that go by without someone in the house mentioning them. This photo is Grace helping me one day when I had all 6 of the kids. This is Bella enjoying that ice cream from Tues night. She is like her mama loves some ice creamy goodness!
Have a good weekend everyone. This is our last weekend of the summer. My heart is heavy today knowing my buddies are going back to school. They are heading into 5th and 7th grade. I feel like I just dropped them off in 2nd and 4th. Mother time; can I have some time back? Join us in praying this weekend that they both do well academically and socially. That they remember who they are and that they are loved just for being them. We pray that they know Jesus in their hearts and they can say "no" to the devil. We pray God watches over St. Ann and keeps our school safe. We lastly pray for all our teachers new and past that they have the stamina to make it till May.
